“Can you do your own homework?” I ask my student. “Come on mister… you know I do not like homework.” Over the years I have heard something like this a lot of times. But first, take a look at this insight: If so many people are hesitant to do their own homework, or go the extra mile, especially when things get tough, consider what that means for the rest of us who do our own assignments and going the extra mile in all that we do. Going the extra mile, or doing our own homework, automatically puts us, hard workers, ahead of most people because we’ve already developed the habit of doing more, or doing extra. We are more responsible. Don’t worry. Turning the word responsible around just means that we have the ability to respond. And is not that what we really want in this life; to be able to respond?

You see, where most people stop, is usually the identical stage where responsible winners are only getting warmed up and ready to begin for real. So, if you are one those winners that keep going… CONGRATULATIONS! Just keep doing what you’re already doing… and if you are a person who is frustrated because you have not seen positive results yet, don’t worry. Stay the course. Rome wasn’t built in 1 day, and neither will your colossal dream life be built in one day. However, over time it will be constructed as long as you continue your habit of doing additional. And that doing extra all begins with doing your own homework.

Now adolescents, go learn, lead, and put the way to a better world for all of us. Remember it pays always to do your own homework. And once more, thanks in advance for all that do, and all that you will do…
